Summary

We investigate a small-molecule organic photovoltaic system where there is shape-complementarity between the donor and acceptor molecules. We identify a blending ratio where the molecules form a supramolecular complex. Surprisingly--and in contrast to polymeric systems--this intimate association provides enhanced solar cell efficiency.
